6th Défi 48h Très Court: it's up to you!

It's Saturday, April 6, 2024, and the outside temperature is 26° in Tours, France. Is that something to celebrate? No. This winter is the 3rd warmest since 1900, just behind the winters of 2016 and 2020. Global warming is not a fad, and political responses are falling far short of what's at stake. Every voice counts when it comes to making a difference, yours in particular.

Are you an apprentice or professional filmmaker, a seasoned director or a spirited beginner? Do you like to take on the craziest challenges? Then take part in the Défi 48h Très Court Environnement to prove that fiction is an indispensable resource in the struggle ahead. Whether you're shooting live action or expressing yourself with your pencils or modeling clay, your words, your vision and your sensitivity are essential.

The principle is simple: in two days, from June 7 to 9, you'll have to make a film of less than four minutes on a subject related to the environment. To spice things up, you'll have four constraints to respect, which will be revealed to you at the last minute:

  • a theme
  • an object
  • a phrase
  • a character

The Défi 48h Très Court Environnement is open to everyone, with no age or experience restrictions. The 20 finalists will be eligible for the Fonds CNC/Talent, and may compete for the Prix CNC/Talent, the Mention awarded by ADEME, the French agency for ecological transition, or the TVPaint Awards.

This year, we have the privilege of being sponsored by the CUT! collective: Swann Arlaud, actor, Flore Vasseur, novelist and director, Juliette Vigoureux, expert consultant on environmental issues in cinema, Guillaume Calop, director of the Arcs Film Festival, Julie Amalric, producer, and Cyril Dion, director, writer, poet and activist.

Let's get started! You have until midnight on May 31 to register.
